Biblioscape Comparisons with Other Programs
Introduction
How many companies have links to their competitors' web sites? We do, because we believe:
- Our product provides much more value than those of our competitors.
- A user is treated fairly only when he or she is informed. We want to earn your hard-earned money fairly and squarely.
The following programs can all be downloaded for evaluation from the websites below. You can try them and
compare them to Biblioscape. If you already own one of the following products and want to migrate your database to Biblioscape, click here to learn how.
Major Players
EndNote: A popular program originally written for the Mac. The database is binary compatible between Mac and
PC. The user interface is non-standard, without pop-up menus, drag-and-drop, etc. There is a limit to the size of
the database, although it is large enough for most users. A solid program with a limited feature set.
ProCite: A popular program among librarians. It is available for Windows, DOS, and Mac. It has a large number of fields suitable for cataloging in libraries.
Reference Manager: Probably the oldest bibliographic software. It has a lot of styles for medical journals. It can
format and search records across multiple databases.
Compare
In terms of features, the Biblioscape Standard edition is comparable to EndNote, ProCite, and Reference
Manager. All three products are twice the price of Biblioscape Standard. Biblioscape Professional is equivalent
to the above three products plus WebPoster which costs extra and (unlike BiblioWeb, which comes with
Biblioscape Professional) is read-only. The Biblioscape Librarian edition has all the features of the Pro edition plus the Library module to manage a small library.
